Yes, it’s tax time! The excitement of rummaging through your box of receipts and trying to work out if you can score a tax refund from the Government.
While some find it relatively easy, or have access to an accountant, for others it can be confusing and even stressful.
If you need a helping hand, the Crows Nest Centre is partnering with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) to offer its Tax Help program, a free service if you earn $70,000 a year or less, to help you lodge your tax online.
From 21 July to 29 September, you can make an appointment to sit down with an ATO trained volunteer at the Centre, who will assist you with:
– preparing your tax return for online lodgement
– lodging an amendment to your tax return
– claiming a refund of franking credits
– notifying the ATO if you don’t need to lodge a return.
There are some eligibility criteria and you will need a myGov account, which we can help you with if you don’t already have one.
